Distant Hills B&B Spean Bridge goes to Glenfinnan

Hello

As you know we try to get out and see as many local tourist attractions as possible when we are not busy so we know what to recommend to guests.
This week we drove up to Glenfinnan to the the Bonnie Prince Charlie monument and this also where the railway viaduct is that is featured in the Harry Potter films.
It takes about 30 minutes to get there and the scenery is beautiful. There is a car park and informative little visitor centre. The cafe serves very nice home made cakes.

The monument is a stone tower with a statue at the top and there is a staircase inside which allows you to get up there to appreciate the view.

There are lots of walks in the area varying in distance and you could spend a couple of hours around about this area.

See you

Buenos Dias from a Spean Bridge B and B

Just finished an eight week evening class on Conversational Spanish for beginners.

We get quite a few visitors to Spean Bridge from Spain mostly in July and August. They appreciate the greeness and the cooler climate so hopefully by speaking a little of their language they will feel a little more comfortable. The problem is I am starting to forget what I learned already! The sooner I start using it the better - so come on all Spanish speakers.

The Easter season is picking up nicely now and there is fresh snow on the hills making it very scenic. Lambs in the fields and daffodils trying to bloom (skiers on the hill) - Spring is almost here in the Highlands.

Hello

Mark this date. The first ever blog by Distant Hills Guest House, Spean Bridge in the Highlands of Scotland (:-)

Our guest house in Spean Bridge near Fort William aims to provide a good quality bed and breakfast experience. We currently have four stars from the national agency Visit Scotland and are very grateful to our guests for writing very kind reviews on Trip Advisor. Our website is www.distanthills.com and you can find our Facebook page on there as well.

Well thats enough for just now.
